We Assist Leaders Who Are Responsible for Sacred Structures

FOSS assists leaders, who are responsible for older religious structures, with solving issues related to the maintenance and repair of their facilities to provide safe and functional conditions for community outreach programs. A Technical Service Team Provides services ranging from providing referrals to sources for materials or crafts to providing assistance with conducting a comprehensive assessment of facility conditions, developing priorities, formulating plans, securing and evaluating bids, and providing oversight of projects. FOSS has responded to requests from more than one hundred owners.

We provide Educational Services

FOSS presents slide show and power point presentations to groups, showing a variety of religious structures. Presentations can be customized to the group’s interest, with informative commentary by the presenter. Customized bus tours can be arranged for groups with stops at selected sites for tours of the facilities. Commentary about structures passed in route can be provided by the tour-guide. FOSS publishes a quarterly newsletter “Inspired Space” featuring examples of good stewardship of religious structures, upcoming FOSS programs, projects, and activities, and other items of interest. FOSS, periodically, presents workshops and seminars of interest to owners of older religious structures.
