A group of Kansas City citizens concerned with neglect and abandonment of religious buildings began discussions in 1991. As a result, FOSS incorporated as a Missouri not-for-profit organization on January 29, 1992.
FOSS strives to increase public awareness and education about the culture, history, and architecture of religious originated structures and the ongoing vital importance to the community.
FOSS assists leaders with solving issues relative to the maintenance and repair of the facilities to provide safe and functional conditions to best deliver community outreach assistance, programs and services.
